HERE'S WHAT OUR LISTENERS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THUNDERROCKRADIO®
Thunder Rock Radio One listeners guide to one of the better stations on the net. www.thunderrockradio.com If, like myself you spent your youth trying to rebel against the system and looking for the music that summed up your mood best, you probably listened at some stage to rock. Well if you were born in the late 60’s early 70’s then you probably did. You see rock at this time, during this era, defined the generations in the same way that rap and hip hop have for the children of the 80’s and 90’s. The current youth, in fact my own children will probably be into nu-rock as it’s now defined and I for one am glad that there is one thing they will have in common with their old man, ROCK!!!! I am always on the lookout for ways to feed my musical tastes, heck I have an extensive music library that I can call upon but sometimes it’s nice to be able to sit with the radio on for background. I don’t want to be listening to the likes of Snow Patrol or The Killers 24/7, no matter how good I think they are, they get “over played” if you know what I mean, but I do want a good selection of rock. You remember, the days when AC/DC was more than just something you had to check before plugging in the X-BOX. That’s where I stumbled across this hidden jewel. This little known radio station, run purely on love and emotion by its owners and DJ’s and a little financial input too (donations can be made by PAYPAL and even a couple of £’s or $’s can help them run), has the kind of music that your old radio station used to play when they had the good DJ’s on it, not the “young and trendy” DJ’s we have to endure now. When the DJ’s aren’t on the station runs long, ADVERT FREE music. These “loops” cater for all tastes and are great to have on while you are working at the PC or close to it. The DJ’s are friendly, they are also volunteers so for them to be as receptive to people as they are is testament to the selection process used by the owners. I haven’t yet had the pleasure of listening to all of them, I blame time zones for this problem, but the ones I have listened to are good, DJ_02112 is calming, where as DJ_Fire is just plain nuts, but they are both well worth a listen (watch out for DJ_ViJay, not one for the PC brigade, but damn funny regardless). I have yet to taste the delights of DJ_starrider, DJ_spazster and DJ_Jammer, but they are sure to rate next to the other two. During DJ shows you are openly invited to instant message requests to them. If you catch them right you can get a track on within 2 minutes of asking, but this is sure to stretch out as the fan-base grows. What would it take for you to go and listen, if only for 15 minutes? You know that 15 minutes while you are at the PC is not a lot. All I would say is “try it, you might like it!!” I’m not saying that you should “tune in and rip the knob off” or even "yank it, crank it and rip it off!"as one UK radio station puts it, but just listen in when you have some time on your pc. This radio station has the potential to explode into the mainstream; it just needs people to listen to it to discover what they are missing. Listen at www.thunderrockradio.com and if you like it, tell your friends, I am! <Monty Hopkins
